Minimal

via Daily Prompt: Minimal

The most joy that we give to others is the one that we give unknowingly – when we are born. By our sheer entry into this strange, new world, we make so many people happy. Shouldn’t that be a strong indication that pleasure and happiness are really not measured by tangible, worldly things?

We arrive with so less and leave with a little bit more than what we came with – we carry the growth in our bodies from birth. Wonder why then, do we look at accumulating and hoarding stuff during our lifetime? Why can’t we look at having bare minimal physical possessions but increasing intangible spiritual knowledge, contentment and inner peace? This is not to say that we live the lives of yogis or saints – but just try to avoid that fiftieth top and that fourth car. 🙂
