We admire and appreciate that which we see,

The strong trunk, the lovely flowers, the sweet fruits.

Alas ! We miss in cherishing and esteeming

The invisible, deep and strong roots.

 

We hear many tales of love demonstrated.

Love shown by the grandparents, the siblings and the mother.

Not too many stories abound

About the love shown by the root of the family – the father.

 

Our culture, our traditions and our dresses,

Our language, our habits, our pursuits.

Aren’t they all related to our ancestors,

Our native places and our grassroots?
